How Much Does a Deep Clean Cost in Winnipeg?

Real deep cleaning prices in Winnipeg by home size — what's already included (oven, fridge, carpets, steam), what's extra, worked examples, and how time-based billing works.

Short answer: a deep clean in Winnipeg is estimated at $225 to $570 before GST by home size — about $225 for a studio, $325 for a 2-bedroom, $405 for a 3-bedroom house. Each extra full bathroom adds about $65. With us, the oven, the fridge (inside and behind it), carpet cleaning and steam-cleaning are already in that estimate — the only add-on is inside the cabinets and drawers.

The final bill is the time the clean actually takes: if your home goes quicker than the estimate, you pay less; if it needs longer, you pay more.

Below is the full table, what moves the price, a few worked examples, and how the time-based bill works.

Deep cleaning prices by home size

Estimates for standard condition, one bathroom, before 5% GST:

Home sizeDeep clean estimate
Studio$225
1 bedroom$255
2 bedrooms$325

Extra bathrooms: about $65 per full bathroom, $25 for a half bath. Inside cabinets and drawers: add-on, estimated by home size.

What’s already in the estimate

This is the part worth comparing carefully, because “deep clean” means different things at different companies. Ours includes:

  • Inside the oven — racks, door glass, the baked-on layer
  • The fridge, inside and behind — cleaned out, then pulled away from the wall so the floor and wall behind it get done
  • Carpets — machine-cleaned (shampoo and extraction) if the home has them
  • Marks washed off walls, doors and furniture
  • A steamer on the tough spots — grout, floor edges and corners, taps, the base of the toilet
  • Every room in detail — baseboards, door frames, switches, handles, sills

On many quotes, the oven, the fridge and the carpets are each a separate line — and they’re exactly the jobs that make a deep clean a deep clean. For context, on our own move-out clean the oven alone is about an hour — around $50, more if it’s heavy — and carpet runs about $40–$45 a room. In the deep clean they’re part of the estimate. The room-by-room detail is in what’s included in a deep clean.

What moves the price

Home size is the main factor — a 4-bedroom house is simply more floor, more bathrooms’ worth of grout and more baseboard than a condo.

Bathrooms. One is included; each extra full bathroom adds about $65 (1.25 person-hours), because tile, grout and fixtures are the slowest, most detailed part of the job.

Condition. The table assumes a home that’s been lived in normally. A place that’s gone a long time without a proper clean — heavy grease, years of build-up, a pet-heavy house — takes longer, and because we bill the real time, it costs more. A well-kept home comes in under the estimate. We photograph the condition on arrival, so there’s a clear record of what we started with.

Cabinets and drawers. If you want the inside of every cabinet done, that’s the one add-on, because it means emptying and refilling them.

Worked examples

2-bedroom condo, 1 bathroom, carpet in both bedrooms

ItemCost
2BR deep clean (oven, fridge, carpets, steam included)$325
GST (5%)+$16.25
Estimated total~$341

3-bedroom house, 2 bathrooms, carpeted basement

ItemCost
3BR deep clean$405
Extra bathroom+$65
Subtotal$470
GST (5%)+$23.50
Estimated total~$494

Add inside-the-cabinets to either if you want it; everything else is already in. In both cases the final bill is the time the clean actually took.

Why we bill the real time

Nobody can see how much build-up a home has until they start on it. A fixed price has to guess — and to stay safe it guesses high, so the tidy home pays for the neglected one.

We’d rather be straight about it. You get an estimate by home size to plan around, and then you pay for the hours the clean actually took. If your oven was in better shape than expected and the job goes quicker, you pay less than the estimate. If it needs more time, you pay more. You’re paying for the work your home needed — no more, no less.

Is a deep clean worth it?

It earns its price when a regular clean has stopped keeping up — and in Winnipeg there are a few predictable moments for that:

  • Before the holidays, when family’s coming and the house has had a summer and fall of open windows, dust and cottonwood fluff.
  • In spring, after six months of sealed windows, boots and road salt tracked across the floors.
  • Before starting a regular cleaning schedule, so the weekly or bi-weekly visits start from a genuinely clean baseline.
  • After a renovation, when fine dust has settled into every surface.

If you’re about to move out instead — the home will be empty — you don’t need a deep clean; a move-out clean is cheaper and reaches more, because there’s no furniture in the way. The difference is explained in move-out cleaning vs. deep cleaning.
